The ODSA, through its junior committee, is pleased to provide financial assistance to five high performance juniors from the region, who will be participating in training camps and competitions this summer.
Max Shewchenko, Felix Scholberg, Aidan Somerville and Isabel Smith will be attending the Squash Ontario Talent ID camps. Iman Shaheen will be attending the Battle of the Border training camp and competition.
For many, this will be their first residential training camp and we are certain that they will have a fantastic experience.
The Talent ID camps will be run at the beautiful St. Andrew’s College campus in Aurora and feature amazing head coaches. For the girls camp they have Marci Sier, Melanie Jans, Joanna Phang (Hickox) and Lauren Sachvie as well as Top U19 and University mentors. The boys will have Greg Hunter, Jamie Nicholls, Dave Morrish and Matt Easingwood.
The camps include 4 intensive days of on and off-court training at the 6 court SAC squash centre, 3 nights and 4 days of room and board at a full service world class prep school facility and lots of great social events and team bonding.
Iman Shaheen has been selected to be a part of Team Canada for the Battle of the Border tournament at The Club At White Oaks. Prior to the tournament there will be an ADP camp for the team to prepared for the competition.
“The Team Canada players that have been chosen are very talented and dedicated to the sport, and we are proud to have them represent Canada as we take on the United States”, Graeme Williams Athlete Pathway Manager, Squash Canada.
