ODSA Open City League Update

After discussions with club representatives in the ODSA it has been decided to postpone the ODSA Open City League 2021/2022 season indefinitely. At the time of publishing this update, many clubs are still establishing and beginning to implement entry guidelines for their facilities and some facilities are not yet open. With the nature of how city league operates we need to coordinate with all participating clubs to ensure that the current model of allowing visitors into clubs for league night will still be acceptable. It will be likely in the future that if/when play does resume, it will be up to team captains to ensure that all players on their team meet eligibility requirements to enter each of the different facilities.

What is known so far?

  • Clubs open: Goodlife (Wallace Squash), RA Centre, Sportheque (Squash Outaouais) (these clubs require proof of vaccination to enter)
  • Clubs yet to open: Carleton, uOttawa, Nepean Sportsplex.
  • Clubs with unknown status: Bob MacQuarry (Orleans), Cascades
  • Closed clubs: OAC (closed in 2020).

The recommendation is that clubs run house leagues until the ODSA can establish the logistics to run city league this year. We will revisit this on a session-by-session basis and provide updates as we have them.

Thanks
