This last week saw the second iteration of the Championnat des Clubs squash tournament in Montreal. And much like last year’s event, the ODSA was well represented with multiple teams across the divisions.
In addition to 7 teams from Squash Outaouais (SO), and 3 teams from the RA Centre, this year’s entrants include OttawaU’s team in division 1, and the CAF represented as well, with a team mostly comprised of members from the ODSA.
At the end of the tournament, notable results include:
- Div 1:
- 2nd place: SO Asténick et Lobélix (also winners of the best team name award)
- 3rd place: RA Tinners & Tankards
- Div 2:
- 2nd place: SO The Lobsters
- Div 3:
- 1st place: RA Royal Canal Club
- 3rd place: SO Racquet Rebels
It was a full weekend of squash, with a great social on the Saturday evening, all hosted by Club Atwater. A much enjoyed addition to the weekend was a 1-point tournament. With 64 entrants, the whole mini-tournament was completed in less than half an hour. Although there were plenty of upsets along the way, ODSA local Jayden Shortt was the ultimate winner.
