The aim of the Junior Prix Circuit is to provide more match play experience with a greater variety of squash players and to cultivate camaraderie among junior players across the region. The circuit comprises 5-6 events throughout the season, and caters to juniors of all playing abilities:
Mini Prix: Juniors new to Tournaments
Juniors are learning the basic stroke technique & footwork.
Juniors can serve above the service line onto the middle of the front wall, not necessarily landing behind the half court line on the floor.
Juniors can return the serve back into play & play the rally.
Grand Prix: Juniors developing tournament experience
Juniors can consistently hit the ball & place shots.
Juniors can now volley the ball.
Juniors can serve a consistent regulation serve.
Juniors can return the serve on a regular basis.
Tactically, juniors are starting to hit the ball to length deep in the court more often & then hit short shots.
Super Prix: Juniors with 2+ years tournament experience
Juniors are hitting with good technique & footwork.
Juniors can serve deep into the back court.
Juniors can return the serve consistently deep to the back court.
Juniors are volleying more with control & direction, long & short.
Juniors can play off the back wall, back deep in the court.
Tactically, juniors are moving their opponent around the court using both long & short shots.
Juniors are playing Provincial Level tournaments or are ready to play Provincial tournaments.
Elite Prix: Juniors with 4+ years of tournament experience
Juniors who have typically played in silver tournaments or above for a few years.

For each event a junior participates in, points are awarded as follows:
1st – 620 points; 2nd – 570 points; 3rd – 530 points; 4th – 500 points; 5th – 470 points; 6th – 450 points; 7th – 430 points; 8th – 410 points; 9th – 390 points; 10th – 370 points; 11th – 350 points; 12th – 330 points; 13th – 310 points; 14th – 290 points; 15th – 270 points.
Each player’s top 4 results are used to calculate the season total. All juniors and their families are invited to our fun awards social at the end of the season.
