The RA Summer Open, with mixed gender draws, was held August 25-27 and attracted 40 players including out- of- towners from Quebec City, Montreal (5) and Kingston. It was announced on August 19th that Squash Outaouais has been selected by Squash Canada to host the 2017 Canadian Women’s Team Championship. To be held January 6-8, 2017, the Canadian Women’s Team Championship will be played at La Sporthèque, in Gatineau, Quebec. See the full press release for all the details. Congrautlations to Steve Wren (Sportheque) who captured the Men’s 50+ crown at the 2016 Canadian Squash Championships, played May 5-8 at Mayfair Park club in Toronto. Other participants from the ODSA included Martin Aass (3/4, Men’s 50+), Rudy Rodriguez (3/4, Men’s 50+), Dominic Wren (Men’s A), Chloe Wren (Women’s A) and Bill Mohan (Men’s C)
The Sportheque Classic, held April 28 – May 1, attracted about 50 players, with some from Quebec City and Montreal, and with several women playing in both men’s and women’s events.
